The Southern Telecom Project Circle, with headquarters at Chennai, is entrusted with the following works in the Southern States including Union Territory of Pondicherry, fulfilling the transmission requirements of Territorial Circles and STR.

Ø Planning, Survey and Execution of Long Distance Optical Fibre schemes, Overlay Access Network & National Optical Fibre Network.

Ø VSAT connections.

Ø Planning, Installation and Commissioning of transmission equipments like DWDM, SDH and OTN Equipments.

Ø Defence works like NFS & NCN.

Ø Special project works like MNGT, MPLS Network and NDMS.

Ø Satellite works in Lakshadweep islands.

Ø Submarine cable works.

As on 31-03-2019 STP has commissioned 1,40,216 KMs of OFC long distance routes, 7,84,098 System KMs, 15809 VSAT connections and 5533 KMs of NOFN routes which connect 2606 Gram panchayats.

Shri V Munindranath is the Chief General Manager, Southern Telecom Projects, Chennai. He is assisted by Shri.V.K.Sanjeevi, Principal General Manager (HQrs) and Shri G Muthukumarasamy, IFA at Chennai, Shri. Chittaranjan Mohapatra, Principal General Manager, Transmissions Projects at Bangalore, Shri. K. Sathyamurthy, Principal General Manager, Defence Projects at Hyderabad, Shri. P.Murali Mohan, General Manager, Satellite at Bangalore and Shri R.V.S.S.Rama Anjaneyulu, General Manager, Transmission Projects at Hyderabad. Shri.V.K.Sanjeevi, Principal General Manager (HQrs) at Chennai also looks after the charge of Principal General Manager, Transmission Projects, Madurai. PGMs/GMs are being assisted by Addl.GMs / DGMs who in turn control Divisions headed by Divisional Engineers.
